Microsoft itself offers a utility to disable Windows 10 updates. But in the same tool, Microsoft offers an option to disable the mandatory Windows 10 security updates. The utility’s main use is to prevent installation of drivers that might be problematic to a person’s Windows 10 system.

Down load and install this, Microsoft itself offers a utility to disable Windows 10 updates. There is a workaround for the mandatory updates, set Windows update services to manual. Have to make sure you turn all the privacy crap off. The only two things I don't like privacy stuff, and mandatory updates. But for the most part, it runs smoother and faster than 7. Still has a few bugs to work out, took some getting use too.

It looks like Microsoft got most of Windows 8 mistakes worked out on 10. But when Microsoft came out with Windows 10, I thought it was time to upgrade. I didn't want anything to do with Windows 8. Yea I stuck it out with Windows 7 for a long time, it was a great operating system. I may well have to cut off my nose to spite my face but I will do so.ĭon't piss me off with adware and new features I do not want and in which I do not have a choice. I'd rather suffer LINUX and be restricted to the 1500 linux ready games on steam than put up with that chicanery. If that is the future of OS updates, sneaking adware (which it is) into undisclosed mandatory updates then MS can feck off. They have already mightily pissed me off with the nagging 'upgrade to win 10' notification thingy that came as a recommended update without any clue as to what it was. I will continue to use the windows insider programme installation to play with but until I get to decide when and if I want to update, Win 7 will be my day to day OS. Until they remove the mandatory auto update I am not having it.
